The building is complete!!

It was with great joy that on Sunday, April 12th, we celebrated the opening of the new church building along with the baptism of 8 people. The mayor of Ciumeghiu came to cut the ribbon and officially open the building that will be used for church, children's and women's classes as well as possibly other activities like literacy classes. After more than 2 years of moving forward in faith with hardwork and gracious financial gifts from our US friends (more like family! :), God blessed this little church in Ciumeghiu with a new strong beautiful building that will hopefully last for many years to come. The mayor was quite touched by the turnout of more than 200 people and expressed his desire to help the Rom/Gypsy community to rise to the living standards of their Romanian neighbors. We are very thankful for the good relationship Pastor Nastase and the church has with the mayor and hope to also share with him our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you, our US brothers and sisters in Christ, for your constant prayers, love and support that has helped bring this construction project to completion. Kim

All in a flurry!

Spring has arrived in Romania! With temperatures in the 60's, everyone is outside planting gardens, doing spring cleaning and just enjoying the weather. Easter is also just around the corner (we celebrate on April 19) so the churches are running around preparing for the celebration of our Lord's resurrection as well as other celebrations. On April 12, Ciumeghiu will have another baptism and will have the dedication of the new classroom building! The men are finishing the outside, the women cleaning the inside and the children running around in excitement getting in everyone's way. 2 years we have been working, praying and moving forward in faith that the Lord would complete this building to be used for His name. Pray for the Ciumeghiu church as they disciple these new members and plan to use their new classroom building for summer ministries! On April 19, Tinca church will have a baptism that will include a teenager from another village half way across Romania. Peter is a wonderful guitar player and singer and was a great help to us in camp last year. There is no Rom/Gypsy church in his village so he came to be baptized with his Christian brothers in Tinca. The Rom/Gypsy community in Peter's village has asked Pastor Gavri, the Tinca pastor, to come preach the Gospel to them also. After Easter, Pastor Gavri with Peter will try to reach the Rom/Gypsy people of Teius, Alba Romania for Christ. Pray for the Lord to work in these peoples hearts. May you each have a wonderful Easter celebrating Jesus resurrection from the dead which gives us hope to live! Kim
